Review
One of the perks of staying in Hotel Can Cera, a small boutique hotel in Palma's Old Town, is that it offers travelers an opportunity to see the inside of a traditional Mallorquin mansion. When two sisters inherited their family palace, they turned it into the city's most refined, discreet lodging option.
Guests enter through a nondescript entranceway, into a stone courtyard with a glassed-in, simple lobby. As is typical in Mallorquin houses, main rooms, like sitting rooms and parlors, are located on the second floor and are centered around the interior courtyard, which provides light and fresh air while retaining privacy. Fourteen rooms are outfitted with lovely Spanish antiques, seagrass rugs, white linens, pale blue textiles and white washed walls. Bathrooms are sleek and modern, with oversized marble tiles and modern fixtures.
The small restaurant and bar in the hotel lobby is an excellent option for a pre-dinner drink and snack, and service throughout the hotel is personal and caring.
Who Should Stay
Most travelers going to Mallorca will spend their time at one of the island's resorts and visit Palma as a day trip, but this is the best hotel option for those looking to overnight in the capital.
