Oh Martine! [There are two locations in the city.]
Fondation Bodmer, in Cologny. [This museum is under renovation until 2025.] It is a museum of ancient books and manuscripts and it tells the entire history of writing. It is fascinating! The collection is unique in the world and a must-see.
Carouge, it’s a charming little town on the upskirt of Geneva. It used to be part of the kingdom of Sardinia. The architecture is very particular, it looks like a little Italian town. In the summer, go have an ice cream on Place du Marché.
Take a walk around the lake! Always nice and beautiful if you are downtown. If you have time, explore the surroundings of Geneva and even go to Le Lavaux, in Canton de Vaud, to visit the beautiful vineyards overlooking Lake Geneva.
Saveurs d’Italie for fine Italian food, at 11 boulevard du Pont d’Arve.
The Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva for luxury facing the lake. The Four Season Hôtel des Bergues, one of oldest and finest hotels in Geneva. Hôtel Marmont is more affordable and downtown, with an excellent restaurant. Hôtel Bel Espérance is low-budget but super central.
Don’t miss touring the Old Town of Geneva.
Visit Les Bains Des Pâquis, for a fondue in winter or a lemonade in the summer.
