Elena Bowes
Freelance journalist Elena Bowes is a self-proclaimed “L-means-luxury kind of traveler.” She says: “It all started when I slept on linen sheets at my grandmother’s house and realized there was a whole world out there.” Elena’s pet hotel peeves include paper-thin walls, unhelpful concierges and poor room design. “Bad coffee is also inexcusable,” she says. In the last year, Elena has visited Brazil, Mallorca, St.-Barths, Sardinia, Japan, Paris and Venice. Topping her current wish list are India and Bali, where inner zen will hopefully excuse lapses in the local macchiato. She lives in London and has written for such publications as Town & Country, House & Garden and Travel & Leisure.
