Palki Khana
This restaurant attracts lots of tired tourists because it sits right at the entrance and exit of the City Palace. However, don’t avoid it because of that. The Indian food is surprisingly good and sitting at the outside tables under umbrellas with views of the palace is lovely. For those craving western dishes, there are pizzas and sandwiches available, but the platter of Indian dishes is delicious. During dinner, you may be required to have tickets for the sound and light show.
Sheesh Mahal
From Udaivillas, you can take a boat to Leela Palace, whose Sheesh Mahal restaurant specializes in Indian cuisine. Situated al fresco on the roof top, the restaurant, illuminated by rows of candles, overlooks Lake Pichola and Udaipur’s lit-up cityscape. It’s a special setting for a big night out. Dinner only.
