Destination: Grenada

When to Go Text Size A A A

The destruction of 2004 notwithstanding, Grenada is actually outside the hurricane belt; Ivan was the first such storm to strike since 1963. High season, from mid-December through mid-April, coincides with the dry season; the rainy season’s showers, though, are very short and intermittent (the longest ones last about twenty minutes). And whatever the season, temperatures are consistently in the 80s. All told, Grenada is definitely a year-round destination. I went in September, considered the most humid month of the year, and still loved it; the average temperature was in the mid-80s. If you plan to travel during the wintertime, be sure to book ahead, as many properties are quite small (Laluna, for instance, consists of only sixteen cottages).
