When picking a place to stay on Harbour Island, the biggest question to ask yourself is how important is it for you to be steps from the beach. There are some stylish properties in town on the harbor side, such as Rock House, but if you have come here for the famous pink sand beaches and will feel frustrated that you can’t walk from your bedroom over the dunes to the beach, then you should stick with the hotels on the sea side.
The next question that many repeat guests consider is whether it would be more fun to rent a house than to stay in a hotel. There are many rental choices—from historic cottages in town to sprawling beachside villas—but they are often booked by repeaters. If you are considering this option, you may want to stop in to one of the realty offices in town, take a look at their listings and introduce yourself to one of the agents.
