Club Med Trancoso
For travelers with young kids or those who want a full-service resort experience that caters to families, Club Med is considered the best choice in the area. The French chain has put a renewed emphasis on providing a refined experience with an all-inclusive package. The 250-room resort perches atop a dramatic cliff overlooking the Atlantic. Many of the rooms connect for families and tons of activities are included in the packages from sailing to the teen club. Though the resort is four miles north of the Trancoso, daily excursions are offered there and to other towns. One popular choice is the ferry trip to Porto Seguro with a visit to an Indian tribe in the rainforest. Rates depend on the season and size of family, but a one week package for a family of four in March costs $7,500, and includes all meals, activities and annual membership fees.
