Hotel Chesa Rosatsch

Long-time visitor Michael Bassermann recommends:

“Don’t miss eating in this hotel. The excellent fine-dining restaurant is only open in the evening; there’s also a bistro that’s serves Alsatian specialties, like Flammechueche in a number of varieties, throughout the day.”

Hotel Sonne

From a member who visited in February 2008

“The sleigh ride from the village of Sils (20 min away from St. Moritz) is fantastic at night. One must reserve at Hotel Sonne for fondue. It is magical, the ride is very cozy, as they cover you with warm blankets and on top, sheep’s hair covers…..The darkness and the silence that comes with the snow is incredible.”

Murtaröl

A favorite of long-time visitor Michael Bassermann:

“Run by the Walther family, this restaurant in tiny Plaun da Lej, about a fifteen minute drive south of St. Moritz, is the best seafood place in the Engadin. Reportedly Antonio Walther is the only Swiss restaurateur who has permission to shop on the wholesale fish market in Milan. Everything is super fresh and delicious.”

Editor’s Note: Closed Monday during high season.
