Marmara Bodrum
The Marmara makes a perfect home base from which to explore the Bodrum area. Its privileged location atop a hill right outside the city affords it great views and a sense of tranquillity, yet you can be at the marina in ten minutes. All rooms feature modern decor, high-tech amenities (free wireless Internet is a big plus) and separate sitting areas plus balconies. Be sure to request one with a view of the water. The hotel has a small gym area (albeit an unair-conditioned one), two pools, two squash courts, a spa and an excellent restaurant, but its biggest asset is its boat, a forty-nine-foot traditional wooden gullet that can accommodate groups or private parties for a day spent cruising the peninsula’s shores.
