Bianca Beach Club
What Bodrum’s coast lacks in sand, it more than makes up for in clever floating docks that stretch into the Aegean. The top place to experience a beach club is Bianca Beach Club, in GölTürkbükü. Connected by catwalks (which are treated as such by many a sunbather) and furnished with chaise longues and daybeds shaded by flowing white curtains, Bianca’s docks are the perfect base for swimming, sunning and serious people watching.
When I arrived at the club’s easy-to-miss entrance, I wondered whether the hotel’s driver had taken a wrong turn. But as I watched a line of Range Rovers and Mercedes deposit their superstylish cargo, I realized I was very much in the right place. Unlike at the chic clubs in more established European resort areas, gaining admission to Bianca is trouble-free; just pay a small fee (which goes towards your bar and restaurant tab) and grab a free chair. To secure the best spot, however, have your hotel call ahead to get one of the daybeds on the docks. The daytime patrons are fashionistas and well-heeled families, and the dress code is beach chic (think bikinis and caftans for women, collared shirts for men). The club’s restaurant serves excellent food, including salads so surprisingly fresh and flavorful, you’d expect to see them in a California kitchen rather than on a Turkish beach. At night, Bianca transforms into one of the hottest restaurants and nightclubs in the area.
