Kelly Tarton's Antarctic Encounter and Underwater World
If you’re traveling with children, or if you have a lifelong hankering to swim with sharks, the touted Kelly Tarlton’s Antarctic Encounter and Underwater World is a must-do. The subterranean marine park features an underwater glass tunnel where sharks, giant eels and stingrays swim close and a replica of the Antarctic landscape, complete with snow drifts, icy winds and penguins. (Visitors tour in a heated snowcat.) Kelly Tarlton’s can be reached by car, taxi or bus and is located on the water just a few miles from downtown.
