The city’s main shopping strip is State Street, with many well-known brands, including Saks Fifth Avenue, and independent boutiques clustered on the stretch between Canon Perdido and Sola Street. But more unusual, upscale shops are located on Montecito’s Coast Village Road. As one Montecito resident sums it up, the high points for visitors are the high-end vintage shops in Santa Barbara, the antiques district in Summerland (see For the Home) and Coast Village Road in Montecito, where you may be browsing designer labels with celebrities or getting advice from the saleswomen who dress them.
