Petersham Nurseries café

Those seeking a bit of country air must try this quirky but delectable café in gorgeous Richmond Park, just outside of London. Prepare yourself for a rustic chic setting, with dirt floors and garden antiques in an enchanting greenhouse, where head chef (and British Vogue columnist) Skye Gyngell works with seasonal produce, creating a limited menu that changes weekly. A typical summer lunch might include a Bellini to start, Dorset white crab on sourdough toast, and lamb salad with chili jam, shaved fennel and crème fraîche. It’s open Tuesday through Sunday for lunch only, and weekends are especially popular, so book early.

Wapping Project

A favorite of Nathalie Hambro.

“Set within an old hydraulic power station, the dramatic Wapping Project doubles as an art center. A visual and culinary showstopper, this restaurant attracts a young and trendy clientele. It’s a little out of the way but definitely worth the detour.”
