Just Back From...Courchevel

In December I traveled to two of Europe’s most glamorous destinations and in rapid succession. One day I was enjoying a panoramic view of the Mediterranean from the dining room of the Hotel du Cap, and a 50-minute flight and 300 miles later was skiing out of Le K2, the hottest new hotel in Courchevel. In the early 20th century, the Côte d’Azur defined luxury travel for the beau monde, and it continues to be the summer residence of the global jet-set to this day. However, Courchevel – widely considered the Riviera’s snowier counterpart – has completely redefined pampering in a way that many of even the most sophisticated of travelers has never experienced. Courchevel feels like the Côte d’Azur on steroids.

Courchevel is unlike any other ski location I have ever visited. Imagine five distinct villages rising up a mountain slope in the Savoie region of the French Alps.
