Destination: California Wine Country: Napa

Overview Text Size A A A

It’s no surprise that Napa and Sonoma counties continue to draw oenophiles from around the world, when you consider that the California wine industry contributes $125.3 billion annually to the U.S economy. But in recent years, the area has become a mecca for passionate foodies and design scouts as well, and for good reason. Some of the country’s most innovative cooking and cultivating can be found in these two near but very distinct valleys.

In Napa, the more glitzy of the two, Yountville and St. Helena have become landmark culinary destinations, increasing the interest in food-and-wine pairings and reaffirming the area’s bountiful resources. Napa town, the often overlooked entry point into the valley, has also stepped up its culinary game with the opening of an outpost of Morimoto and the continued success of the wonderful Oxbow Public Market.
