Winter Weekend in Québec

From L.N., New York

“A few years ago, we took our children to Quebec for a long weekend. It was so easy to get to from NYC – I think there are even flights from Laguardia. We stayed at the Frontenac, which is centrally located in the charming old area of Quebec overlooking the Lawrence River. It looks like a grand old castle. The hotel has a skating rink and tobogan ride. One day we did dog sledding which was amazing and the next day we visited the ice hotel (but were too chicken to spend the night on ice beds!!) We organized both activities thru the hotel concierge. There are charming shops and restaurants as well. When we returned 3 days later, we really felt we had been away! (In February, over President’s Weekend, they have a Winter Carnival in Quebec with parades, ice sculptures, fireworks, etc.)”
