“1. A restaurant called Le Tanjia 14 Herb J’did. Next to Aya’s which was great. There is another little store in that metalworkers square nearby that carries cute gifts and things for the home. I don’t know if it even had a name.
2. A store called Akbar which carries Indian fashions. Place Bab Fteuh. Wasn’t impressed by Kif Kif.
3. A cooking class you can check out at www.soukcuisine.com. Jack (my son) and I did it and it was great. You shop for ingredients in the souks and then go back and cook with Moroccan women. Very traditional foods. Class size limited to six. Excellent.
4. We did a great bike tour of Palmeraie and got to really see another side to Marrakesh. www.marrakechbikeaction.com They also have more demanding sport itineraries (we had 6 children between us).
5. I would recommend a Riad for families and certainly if more than one family traveling together. We had the whole place to ourselves and they took great care of us and the children. We had lunch at La Mamounia and found it to be without character. With Chanel boutiques etc. You might as well be at a hotel in Vegas.
6. The Marrakchi is mostly tourists but the food is decent and the view of Jemma el Fna at night is wonderful.
