This onetime unassuming property recently underwent an extensive refurbishment and emerged as a stylish twenty-eight-room hideaway close to the city center. The individually designed rooms showcase a variety of styles, including a contemporary mix of white and beige fabrics, mahogany four-posters, painted wood furniture and cushy leather sofas. The stone-rimmed outdoor pool, surrounded by a lush garden, is a wonderful place to while away an afternoon, and the hotel’s Thai restaurant, Le Grand Café, is excellent. This is a nice option for travelers who crave tranquillity but don’t want to venture too far from the village. Rooms from $810.
