Pierre de Lune

This little jewel box of a shop on the Place des Lices is owned by Madame Françoise Santaella, who keeps high-season hours, i.e. she leaves town when the crowds do too. Her real sea shells are encrusted with precious stones by old world craftsmen and won’t be like those you find anywhere else. Madame Santaella does all the designs herself and if you stop into the shop, you may find her working on new necklaces.

Pintaldi Jewels/ Francesca Donà Jewels

Francesca Donà, a wonderful Venetian-born jeweler, acquired this shop this past spring from her friend Maurizio Pintaldi, and is carrying on the same tradition of creating unique pieces. Like Pintaldi, she describes her jewelry as sculpture, and has the following to prove that these designs are artful. You’ll find necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings with diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphires, as well as stunning coral, aquamarine, turquoise and mother of pearl—usually set in 18K gold. The small shop off the Place des Lices, has had a loyal clientele since Maurizio and his former wife, Angela Pintaldi, opened it and Francesca Donà should appeal to the same customers, even once she has changed its name, which she intends to do this fall.
