Waterfalls

The Kuang Si and Tad Se waterfalls are in every guide book and while spectacular natural sites, they are so touristy that they are not worth your time. Plus, there’s hardly anything to do besides looking at the turquoise water gushing down a mountainside—impressive to be sure but nothing you have to go out of your way to see. The elephants available for rides at Tad Se are downright depressing, as are the Speedo-clad tourists sipping beer at the edge of the water.
