Payot
A favorite of Parisiennes for decades, the French cosmetics company has opened a plush new city spa. The spacious center, outfitted in a contemporary design in a town-house setting just off the Champs-Élysées, has an indoor pool, a sauna and steam room, exercise rooms and a full range of massage and beauty treatments. Nadia Payot, France’s first female dermatologist, founded the company in 1937, and the signature facial she created is still on the menu ($170). What makes Payot’s treatments different from others is that beyond cleansing and hydrating, a beauty therapist leads the client through some forty-two facial exercises meant to improve muscle tone.
