L’Orangerie

This small, pretty restaurant on Ile St. Louis was, for years, always filled with masses of fresh flowers and lit by candle light. (The wall sconces were copies of those in the Rothschild’s hôtel particulier just down the street.) Word of its romantic interiors grew over the years so chances were you sat among Americans dining. A new owner, Michel Del Burgo, formerly of Taillevent and the Bristol took over last fall and updated the menu and the decor. While some have been disappointed by his changes, many still deem it one of the most romantic places for dinner in Paris, especially if you walk around the island after dinner. Closed Sunday. Métro: Pont Marie.
