House of Treasures
This is a two-story gallery store run by Janet Hurt and her daughter, Sasha Horner. From architectural pieces to homeware, the House is known for its unusual selection of global items as well as its Africana offerings. You might find a salvaged temple door with carved lintel reliefs depicting Ganesh, the Sri Lankan god of success next to a chunky Tuareg silver bracelet from Morocco. There are also collections of masks from the Congo and West Africa and string hammocks from Mexico. The possibilities seem endless, thanks to the spirited eye of the passionate mother-daughter team. Kenya insiders recommend the House specifically for its exotic, antique and modern home furnishings, as well as clothes, rugs, and jewelry.
