If I were visiting Seattle with my kids, this stylish but unassuming Kimpton boutique hotel is where I’d stay. Rooms are on the small side but done in vibrant colors and feature sumptuous beds, terrific textures and playful details (including, if you want, your own goldfish in a bowl). The Monaco’s ideal downtown location puts it within walking distance of Pike Place Market, Pioneer Square and the central shopping core, making it a good choice for grown-ups as well. There’s a lively Southern-inspired restaurant, Sazerac, next door. Rooms from $300.
