Gusto

The name says it all: Gusto is a shrine to all things related to food. You can dine in one of five restaurants, including a pizzeria and a wine bar, and stock up on the latest kitchen gadgets or browse hundreds of cookbooks—all in rooms with wide-plank wood floors that seem right out of a Tuscan farmhouse.

La Bottega del Cioccolato

This gem of a chocolate shop has glossy-red walls and a kitchen in the back where the scrumptious chocolates are made. The owner, who comes from a long line of chocolate makers, uses only the purest Brazilian cocoa for his confections (they make terrific gifts). Like all chocolate shops in Rome, it closes for the summer, usually by the end of June, and doesn’t reopen until September.
