Holetown still dominates the restaurant scene here, but it’s no longer the only place to go. In fact, top-drawer restaurants, serving cuisine of every variety, have sprung up throughout Barbados, the only Caribbean island with its own Zagat guide.

TIP: Reservations are highly recommended for anything more formal than a roti stand, and prices have clearly caught up to the food. If you think you’re getting a good bargain, it’s probably because the menu is in U.S. dollars rather than Barbadian currency (which is fixed at roughly fifty cents to the U.S. dollar) and you’re calculating at half the price.
