Aqua Restaurant & Lounge

Barbadian chef Michael Hinds, worked at Miami’s Nobu (as well as Sandy Lane) before coming to this glam South Coast establishment. The design, like that of many places in Miami, is sleek and minimalist with the appropriate mix of exposed wooden beams, glass railings and aluminum and steel accents. The menu, which Hinds describes as eclectic, is heavy on seafood though varied enough to satisfy most palates.

Daphne’s

Since the 1960s, Daphne’s in London has been attracting luminaries, and its Barbados offshoot similarly draws (mostly British) celebrities, like Sir Richard Branson, whenever they are in town. Decor is simple and stylish—with teak walls and a hip bar/lounge area in the front—and the menu, like that of the restaurant’s U.K. parent, is primarily Italian. Naturally, you can also expect great seafood dishes, like grilled mahimahi and the smoked marlin carpaccio appetizer.
