L’Ile de France: The French General Store

The small Francophile shop moved to a new location next to Black Eyed Susan’s. When you’re waiting for a coveted table at the restaurant, pop in to browse through pottery from Burgundy, santon figurines from Provence, handmade leather bags, and soaps from Marseille. Bigger items include bistro tables and copper pots and pans. You can even order bread from French bakery Poîlane, which is delivered weekly.

Lion’s Paw

The home boutique carries elegant housewares including linens, glassware, china and tablecloths. On my recent trip, I loved the stuffed animals by Kenana Knitter Critters, made of hand-dyed wool by women in rural Kenya (part of the proceeds go to their collective).
