Sprawling across a cliff on the wild northeast coast is this established haute-luxe sixty-three-room hotel. With its wraparound, sea-facing terrace, the central pool lures guests to lounge around it on chaises and large daybeds. Many of the Indonesian-themed rooms include private outdoor-terrace tubs, also with breathtaking vistas of the sea. When you’re not lounging by the enormous, dreamy pool or having cocktails in the Moroccan-Asian-style lounge, you can try out a variety of beauty treatments at the small Spa la Posidonia. (Its adjacent gift shop sells a mix of international brands and Ibiza designers.) The four poolside restaurants have terrific Mediterranean food that ranges from simple snacks to a superb five-course tapas-to-truffle-cake gastronomic feast at El Sueño de Estrellas. With a very attentive staff, the Hacienda is an ideal base for exploring the best parts of the island, far from the club scene. Rooms from $593.
