Costa Petit Hotel
Guests must ring the buzzer at a barely noticeable oversize wood door to enter this charming four-suite hotel, situated just a few blocks from the busiest shopping, dining and drinking in Palermo SoHo. Just over a year old, Costa Petit is the sort of delightful boutique hotel you’d normally need to hear about through a tuned-in friend or a porteño who happens to know the Argentine owners, an interior designer and her carpenter husband (his wood craftsmanship here—from the pinotea ceiling and calden floors to the cedro and roble countertops—is gorgeous). In the homey reception area and lobby, guests have daily buffet breakfasts and can later lounge on a pillow-laden sofa by the fireplace with a glass of Malbec. Outside are a grassy courtyard and a beautifully illuminated swimming pool. Two full-size suites—with flat-screen TVs, in-room Jacuzzis and terraces atop the two junior suites, all outfitted with posh bedding and exquisite bathroom fixtures—overlook this picturesque scene. Families with children should request a ground-floor suite: one has two single beds, and the other has a king. Rooms from $150.
