Fabrica 23

Another well-known restaurant in the Santa Catalina neighborhood is Fabrica 23, which serves fresh seasonal fare made from ingredients chosen daily from the nearby market. (The set lunch menu is a great deal at $30). In the summer months you’ll need to book a table here more than a week in advance.

Living

One of the most stylish restaurants in the Santa Catalina neighborhood, this spot is overseen by a half-Italian, half-Greek chef and his wife. The organic but innovative design (pots holding twisted branches, hanging lamps, and wood tables and floors) foreshadows the menu. Standout dishes include the roasted duck with barley, radicchio, wild mushrooms and basil foam; and dorada with crispy squid ink–flavored rice, bok choy and a preserved lemon froth. A six-course tasting menu costs around $60 per person.
