Kin Fabrics
Fiona Caulfield, author of the Love India travel guide recommends:
“Kitty, now in her eighties, is regarded as the mother of block-printing in Jaipur. She began kin fabrics in 1963 and generously helped others learn the craft; her workshop is like a museum waiting to happen. She now mainly does export orders, there is a simple stock room where you can muddle through semi-organised stockpiles and pull out treasures for bargain prices. Many of the prints date back to the designs Kitty did in the sixties and there are sarongs and tunics for around rs.250. I also loved the light but snug, dohar bedcovers. Cash only, no changing rooms.” Mon to Sat 11.30am-6pm.
