A good place to enjoy a lime soda and a snack, especially on the small terrace at the rear of the building.

Anokhi Café

Fiona Caulfield, author of the Love India travel guides, recommends:

“On my first visit to Jaipur, I remember visiting Anokhi, then housed in an old bungalow with a small café nestled alongside. I was saddened when Anokhi was forced to find a new space, and moved into a modern mall. However, on my many visits to Jaipur over the last four years, I have found myself regularly returning to this cool and chic café and believe this to be the most loved spot in town. Melissa, an Australian cook, offers a menu of light seasonal food with an international touch, mostly organic and sourced daily from Anokhi farm on the outskirts of Jaipur. A firm favorite of the expat design community and visiting textile and jewelry buyers, this delightful café has also been adopted by locals, ranging from the ladies who lunch crowd to businessmen and college students. The light and bright space is cool and even when each table is full, has a calm energy. The earthy design uses bamboo and natural textiles, and the comfortable moodahs (cane chairs) make the perfect place to be still and recharge.”

Lassiwala

Fiona Caulfield, author of the Love India travel guides, recommends:

“The most famous Lassiwala in the city, founded in 1944, serves deliciously creamy lassi (yogurt drink) in traditional earthen kulhars (pots). The lassi with honey and rosewater is particularly good. Join the constant crowds to enjoy a signature taste of Jaipur.”
