Destination: St. Lucia

December through May is the dry season in St. Lucia (though there are short intermittent showers throughout the year) when daytime temperatures range between 65 and 85 degrees; they can reach the 90s in summer. When I visited the island in July, it was very hot but mostly dry; showers came and went quickly. (Some resorts offer special rates in the summer months.) Hurricane season typically runs from June through November; in recent years, St. Lucia has been spared the worst storms, but Hurricane Dean hit the island in August 2007 and one local man died.
