Destination: St. Barth's

Overview Text Size A A A

When the big yachts pull into Gustavia harbor, those on board often want to spend serious money, so the port is lined with Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Cartier boutiques. Those brands wear well on major boats, but the real fun of shopping in St. Barth’s is scooping up the special things that are unique to the island (or its sister resorts St.-Tropez and Ibiza). The two main shopping areas are in Gustavia and St. Jean’s Villa Créole. Shops generally open at 9:30 or 10, close from 1 until 3:30 or 4:30, when they reopen, closing at 7.

Insider tip: If you are short on shopping time and want to get a good overview of some of the best products on the island, hit the boutique at Isle de France or Eden Rock. Both are small shops, but you can unearth the perfect looks for the beach or an evening out, including accessories.
