The Falls at Reed’s Island
This private three-bedroom residence, with what just might be the best views on the island, is ideal for small family reunions or ultraprivate getaways. Set on two and a quarter acres of rugged lava cliffs above the Wailuku River, the Falls at Reed’s Island is surrounded by a rain forest and even has its own waterfall. Located a mile from Hilo, the house has a separate kitchen building (though there’s no private chef) and a pavilion that overlooks the waterfall and two gorges. A full roster of amenities includes soaking tubs. From $365 a night.
