Destination: Deer Valley

Overview Text Size A A A

The lunch scene at Deer Valley resembles those at European resorts more than it does those at most American ski mountains. There are some large lodges with cafeterias, but there are many gourmet restaurants where you need reservations and can expect three delicious courses and an impressive wine list as well. Maybe because we often eat at places like Goldener Hirsch and Mariposa on the mountain for lunch, I tend to prefer to go off the mountain and into Park City, where there is also a wide selection of restaurants for dinner. It’s essential to reserve way in advance for all of these spots during peak season; most of the restaurants listed have online booking available.

Tip: The online restaurant reservation site Open Table now includes a number of restaurants in Park City and Deer Valley, which makes it handy for finding available tabes. Go to www.opentable.com.
