Wine Boot Camp in Provence
If wine is one of those things that you’d like to know more about, but never seem to find the time, the Chêne Bleu Extreme Wine Experience is ideal. The five day boot camp set in the panoramic hills of Provence is targeted at wine enthusiasts who like a challenge.
Participants are based at Domaine de la Verrière, a private estate in the Vaucluse region (a forty-five minute drive from Avignon). Days are packed with wine activities, including sampling over 100 vintages, listening to world-renowned experts (including Clive Barlow, who is one of only 278 masters of wine in the world), and getting hands-on experience in the vineyard and winery. Plus students leave with an internationally recognized diploma, the WSET.
Guests stay in a beautifully restored medieval priory with a swimming pool, tennis court, gym and indoor Jacuzzi. A private chef creates gourmet meals, and Nicole Rolet, the charming American who runs the program, also ensures this busy, information-packed crash course is fun. Pack your bikini and something glamorous for the final Wine Oscars pool party.
The annual course runs in mid-June. Spaces are limited. Rolet also does bespoke courses throughout the year.
