57 Rue Oberkampf, 75011 Paris, France
Since appearing on the French version of Top Chef in 2011, Pierre Sang has enjoyed celebrity in France. So when he opened his first restaurant on the hip and happening Rue Oberkampf in the spring of 2012 TV-fans and foodies alike were eager to sample his inventive cuisine for themselves. Today, feedback from critics and the near-constant line around the block prove Sang’s traditional French dishes mixed with Asian ingrediants have staying power beyond the initial buzz. In addition to enjoying adventurous tasting menu, diners have the added bonus of watching Sang prepare dishes in the open-kitchen. As of now the restaurant does not take reservations, so there is typically a line for lunch and dinner seats, though arriving on the early side will definitely shorten the wait.
