Located in downtown Miami with views of the skyline and Biscayne Bay, the Mandarin Oriental is a contemporary option ideal for a spa-focused trip or for those with layovers.
Review
The decor may feel Asian, but the views of sparkling Biscayne Bay let visitors know exactly where they are. The hotel certainly makes the most of these vistas—every room has a balcony and overlooks the island of Brickell Key, the Miami skyline and/or the bay.
Though the lobby and hallways imbue a chain hotel–type feel, the 300 rooms have a sleek and fresh feal. The design is sophisticated with dark navy hues and pops of beige, hardwood floors, and baths and showers.
To escape the heat, guests can relax by the pool, which feels as though it sits on a secluded peninsula in the bay. or indulge in a treatment at The Spa, where the rooms, either individual or coupled, offer cool, dimly lit sanctuaries overlooking the bay. Whether you’re a guest or seeking a relaxing treatment, you should take advantage of the excellent spa, which was awarded as Florida’s Best Spa in 2022. The rooms (either individual or for couples) offer cool, dimly lit sanctuaries out of the sun, and treatments vary from the Oriental Harmony treatment, performed by two therapists armed with oils and spices from Southeast Asia, to classic treatments offered on plush futons.
