Thanksgiving in Riviera Maya

Indagare member C.R. sent us this postcard recounting her holiday time spent in Riviera Maya.

The Banyan Tree Mayakoba was lovely, and we thought the food at all of the restaurants was delicious. Our favorite restaurant was Saffron, the hotel’s Thai restaurant. It was very adult, but even the kids loved the food. One night we did a private dinner on the beach, which was wonderful as well. The service, especially that night, was exceptional. There were a few times that service was a bit sketchy (like when our air conditioning was not working and it took a couple of visits for them to get it done right), but they were very kind and treated us well. The spa treatments were also great (three of the kids got a massage and loved the experience), as was the beach and the beach club, which was where we spent most of our time. The guys in our group said that the golf course was spectacular. The resort’s staff set up a horseback riding excursion for us and an ATV excursion, both of which were hits. When we did the dinner on the beach, the staff toured us through one of the ocean front villas, and they are pretty spectacular. The kids decided that that was where we should stay next year. Overall, we had a great trip. If only they could eradicate the mosquitoes for us, it would be even better!
