Review
For the traditionalist, Les Airelles offers great service in an elegant Savoyard setting. The resort completed a $25 million upgrade in 2009, adding suites, a 5,900 square-foot, four-bedroom apartment with its own spa, a restaurant, a screening room and a game room from children, as well as an updated spa with an indoor and outdoor Jacuzzi, a snow cave and a scented jet shower. The lobby has painted ceilings, antler trophies belonging to the former owner and a 12th-century stone fireplace from a château in Burgundy. For a French hotel, it has a decidedly Austro-Hungarian feeling, but also a great pool. Rooms are cozy and traditionally decorated with fabrics by Rubelli and Pierre Frey, who had a house in the village for years.
La Table des Airelles serves French cuisine and an epic buffet fit for royalty in a chic alpine setting. Diners can enjoy unlimited sushi, raw bar offerings, caviar and more for lunch and dinner (with an a la carte menu also available during dinner service). This is part of the Aman / Les Airelles half-board.
Who Should Stay
Families and couples who enjoy a bit of whimsy and won’t mind being around some families in high season, though the hotel should not feel crowded
