Review
Decidedly on-brand, the Raffles Bali inspires a sense of nostalgia for a bygone time. Only 20 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport (one of Asia’s most trafficked airspaces), Raffles Bali is more successful than the neighboring Four Seasons at achieving an undisturbed and uncontrived feel—even during high season, it is rare to come across another guest, as compared to the Four seasons which feels more crowded.
The resort’s 32 villas showcase Balinese architecture and sleek, with contemporary touches. Each villa comes with its own infinity pool, ideally positioned for sunset views over the Indian Ocean. Many also come with a private garden, and some have a private gazebo.
Additional amenities at Raffles include a private beach, a meditation cave, a fabulous main infinity pool (which is frequently empty due to the villa’s private pools—no competing for lounge chairs needed), state-of-the-art gym, and indoor and outdoor spa.
