Review
Sanará means “you will heal” in Spanish, and this luxury eco-boutique hotel truly delivers upon that promise. Visionaries Daniella Hunter and Charlie Gay opened Sanará’s doors in 2014 with the goal of creating a space for intimate relaxation and social connection with like-minded individuals. Today, the resort continues to offer a fantastic opportunity for reflection and rejuvenation.
Sanará has 19 rooms and suites located on either a private beach just steps from the ocean or within the property’s jungle compound. The Sanará Villa sleeps up to ten guests and is well-suited for groups and large families.
In their rooms, guests are greeted with a beautifully woven basket of gluten-free treats, a Turkish Hammam beach towel to enjoy during their stay and samples from Sanará’s own line of healing products made with organic coconut oil, shea butter, beeswax and lavender. Guests are then invited to enjoy a delicious, complimentary drink from Sanará’s beachfront restaurant The Real Coconut, which offers naturally inspired meals made with locally sourced and sustainable ingredients. All guests also enjoy their own private cabana on Sanará’s pristine, white-sand beach.
Design lovers will note that the tranquil, light-soaked rooms strike a perfect balance between conservation and luxury. The property was built using local stone and sustainably harvested wood, and shell-adorned dreamcatchers hang above each luxurious bed.
Daily yoga classes led by expert teachers and unique spa treatments at the Sanará Wellness Center—including sound baths, crystal massages and a Mayan healing ceremony—leave guests feeling completely healed.
