What was your favorite trip this year and why?
Paris for no reason other than some quiet as three kids under eight take their toll.
What was your favorite hotel/resort (and why)?
The Ritz. So timeless and classic (most of the trendy properties don’t feel old-world enough for me). I dig the dudes who have worked there since 1969, the Hemingway Bar, the pains au chocolats, the eggs, the works. It’s heaven.
What was your favorite new travel discovery?
I went to Istanbul for a pal’s wedding and stayed at the Four Seasons Bosphorus. It’s magnificent. The hammam was insane, and the spa there is world-class. I’ve never experienced anything like it.
What is one thing you learned while on the road?
Ambien makes you have secret eating binges; you wake up naked with crumbs everywhere.
Where are you dying to go next year?
Berlin. I’m obsessed with going because the art scene there is booming.
