JAIPUR: As if running one world-famous emporium weren’t enough, Munnu Kasliwal (of Jaipur’s Gem Palace) teamed up with French jewelry designer Marie-Hélène de Taillac to open a shop in 2005 selling an exclusive array of Indian-produced clothing, accessories and home furnishings with a modern twist. Hot Pink is set in a series of whitewashed rooms in a palace hotel, all the better to show off its vibrant goods. You’ll find the softest shawls in every hue, deep purple caftans with painted silver patterns and pillows that would stop traffic in any designer show house. Fans include fashionable folk from far and wide, among them Madeline Weinrib, of ABC Carpet & Home, and London’s Ashley and Allegra Hicks. The store has spawned a Shocking Pink boutique for sexy lingerie and a Baby Pink for charming baby and children’s clothes as well as a branch of Hot Pink in Mumbai.
