Oxfam’s arresting outdoor installation of Rankin photographs shows portraits of displaced refugees from the Congo. The exhibition of 32 photographs, which are mounted on seven foot stands outside the National Theatre in South Bank, will be running through December 21st.

Through January 18th the Hayward presents a multi-media retrospective from Andy Warhol. “Other Voices, Other Rooms”. Highlights include iconic ‘Pop Art’ screen prints, nineteen of Warhol’s films, the contents of Time Capsule 92, all forty-two episodes of his 1980’s cable TV serials.

The Tate Modern is exhibiting the works of famed artist Mark Rothko and Brazilian artist Cildo Meireles. The iconic ‘Rothko Room’ works, the Seagram Murals and more are only on display through February 1st. Cildo Meireles, showing through January 11th, takes you on a seven-room journey exploring everything from Space and Scale, Circulation and Distribution to an All-Red Room and an indescribable ‘Cathedral’ of sorts. The Tate Britain is showing a retrospective of the controversial work by figurative painter Francis Bacon until January 4, 2009. The retrospective includes many of his most shocking paintings. Book tickets online at www.tate.org.uk/tickets to get a head start.

Gerhard Richter’s new work “4900 Colours: Version II” at the Serpentine Gallery is only up until November 23rd but a collection of his portraits is coming to the National Portrait Gallery (www.npg.org.uk) from February 26th through May 31st. The exhibit features works from the 1960’s to the present including early black and white portraits.

The eagerly awaited Saatchi Gallery reopened its doors after three years in the Duke of York HQ building to an exhibit of contemporary Chinese Art featuring 24 leading young artists. Admission is free.

White Cube has Sam Taylor-Wood’s first exhibit since 2004, “Yes I No”, showing through November 29th. Located on Mason’s Yard, off Duke Street, White Cube offers free admission. Upcoming exhibitions include artist Miroslaw Balka from December 9th through January 24th, and Robin Rhode’s ‘Through the Gate’ from November 26th through January 10th.

“Seizure” was commissioned by the Jerwood/Artangel Open, a new initiative for the arts. The upcoming commission comes from filmmaker Clio Barnard and will be a feature length film of live performances from different communities in Britain.

In the lower gallery of the ICA, the young Italian artist Roberto Cuoghi presents Suillakku, a sound installation which took Cuoghi’s two years to compose. This journey into 7th century Mesopotamia enrolls a range of instruments where visitors feel they are ‘surrounded by hundreds of people during a time of great suffering’. Show can be heard through November 23rd. Tickets can be bought online at www.ica.org.uk.
