Indagare Family Trip: Clifton Inn Text Size A A A
We know that finding family vacations that balance the interests of well-traveled parents with the fun and comforts of young children can be a challenge to orchestrate. To make things easier, we are introducing our first signature Indagare Family Trips , so you can book memorable getaways designed with activities that appeal to all ages built in.
In a state known for its presidential connections (eight Commander-in-Chiefs were born in Virginia), the Clifton Inn stands apart. Originally owned by Thomas Jefferson’s father and inherited by the President’s daughter, the estate also served as the Civil War home of the famed Confederate ranger John Singelton Mosby. Today, this eighteen-room Relais & Châteaux property hosts a more peaceful crowd. Families enjoy the proximity to all of Charlottesville’s attractions and the tranquil setting on 100 picturesque acres along the Rivanna River. Amenities include a private lake, tennis courts, a lovely pool and walking trails plus excellent dining and luxurious interiors that combine the best of the historic elements with modern conveniences.
The Indagare Family Trip includes two-night accommodations (based on a family of four); breakfast and afternoon tea for two; four Family Presidents’ Passes to historic Monticello, Ash-Lawn Highland and Montpelier, as well as the Michie Tavern Museum. The resort also offers complimentary babysitting while parents enjoy a wine tasting at the award-winning Jefferson Vineyards. Rates from $1,195 per room. Call Indagare for details or to book: 212-988-2611.
