Edible Paris Text Size A A A

Gourmet travelers to Paris have no shortage of reference books, but you’ll be hard-pressed to find a source as specialized or informed as Rosa Jackson who has run Edible Paris for ten years. A Canadian-born restaurant critic and cookbook author, Jackson divides her time between her Nice-based cooking school and the City of Light, where she custom-designs walking itineraries focused around the culinary arts (perfect for visitors who want to be their own guides). Jackson first establishes her clients’ tastes and interests—if you have a sweet tooth, you might be tempted to explore the chocolatiers of St.-Germain-des-Près, health fans might enjoy a tour of Boulevard Raspail’s organic market—then she creates a written itinerary for one to three days, including maps to locate each place. She’ll also recommend restaurants along the way or secure you such choice tables as those at L’Ami Louis or Astrance. Jackson does guided tours as well, but taking your own sweet time with your own sweet itinerary is half the fun. Approximately $250 for a personalized one-day itinerary, in English or French.
