This innovative camp overlooking the Great Rift Valley must be one of the most beautifully designed ecolodges anywhere. Each of the eight rooms is a marvel of organic design where indoor and outdoor merge beneath pale thatch roofing. Walls consist of white quartz panels that open to the wilderness, with only timber poles supporting the roof. Local materials are incorporated in the pebble mosaics, rough-hewn wooden tables and boulder-edged pools. Activities include walking and Jeep safaris, canoeing, mountain biking and visits to Maasai villages. Suites from $780, including meals, beverages and safari excursions.
